Materializing projects. I am proud of my hometown. From the time a new mayor has been proclaimed, a huge transformation has set in. Online Shops. I have been stuck in traffic this afternoon causing me to be late with my meet up. Critical thinker. On rare occasions, I would transform into someone who is a “critical thinker”. It is when I would “think deeper” into some issues, internally contradicting everything that is different from my point of view. A depressing condition. Obsessive compulsive disorder is a condition in which a person is preoccupied with rules, orderliness, and control. A shot through my heart! There’s nothing wrong with abiding the rules, being orderly, and wanting to have control, except of course when you have OCD. But I must admit that I am an OC person as well. It drives me mad when a single detail is not in place to the point that I arrange my wardrobe according to color. With the darkest shade on the bottom part of the pile; the slightest sign of disorderliness drives me insane. Because of my constant want to achieve perfection, I tend to become a control freak sometimes. I remember one time during college when someone asked me why I kept using spring notebook. Although it’s hard to do, I covered it with plastic sleeves, instead of the conventional one. My answer was “So that when I make a mistake while writing, it’s easy to tear the pages off.” It is really hard when you are an OC. No matter what you do, you just can’t help it. Other people may find it irritating. I myself find it irritating at times too, but I hope you understand.

Regret is always at the end

Family first. Upon waking up this morning, I felt a bit nervous seeing a big crowd near our gate. I assumed something happened since it is very unusual to see a lot of people early in the morning just for nothing. So out of curiosity I went nearer to listen. Indeed, a dead man's body was found floating on the beach wearing nothing. Policemen say this may be due to squabbles involving teens. Nowadays, it's really hard to be a good parent to our children. Most of the time troubled teenagers are the ones involved because parents lack quality time. “Kids these day”, a famous phrase we older people would usually say. As technology advances just as kids these days are; I could say that they are missing a lot of the good old stuffs. They will never understand how getting skinned knees are worth it when you have been out all day in the playground with other kids. They will never experience the fun we had playing under the rain as they are more often than not facing their PCs and iPads. For sure I would never allow my kids not to experience the kind of childhood I had; fun, free, and a lot of experiences that made me become what I am today.

Love hater

Too cheesy. I would never become a self-confessed hopeless romantic type of person. Call me heartless when I don’t get teary eyed when seeing something very sentimental. I can't blame myself as I find it really cheesy. Although I know it’s really hard not to sound corny especially when we’re saying things from the bottom of our hearts; we could at least try to minimize expressing it out in the open. Unlike most girls, I do not watch a lot of chick flicks, read a lot of sappy love stories with very predictable “happy endings”, and spamming love songs that always come off mushy. That would be too geeky. You might take me as a hypocrite, but I have also been in love, maybe not just once but a few times. I’m just not too dramatic about it. Unlike most girls, I don’t really approve posting love declarations in public just to prove the point. They probably should get a room for that.

I may have come off as a “hater” for the most parts, but hey I could also write love notes, put it inside vinyl envelopes, and let it float into the vast ocean. Sorry but I find the “message in the bottle” concept a little too overrated. But my point is that, a simple “I love you” would be enough. Too much of something isn’t good.

Persistence as my forte

Left-sided brain. Anatomically speaking, the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. Same with creativity, it is the right cerebral cortex that has dominion over it. I wouldn’t really consider myself a “right-brained” or “left-brained”; in fact, I always thought I’m neither or just a so-so. During that day that someone showered logic, it’s either someone towered over me or I wasn’t actually at the front row. And when it rained creativity, I was using my umbrella. But if given the chance to undo it, I’d gladly throw that umbrella away!

Colors amaze me. The details of stuffs, I’m really particular about it. These things fuel my imagination; however, I can’t seem to materialize it. I have a lot of things in my head that I want to do: paint beautiful pictures like Mona Lisa, draw people, design unique stuffs, and even create my own version of things like zipper pouches, but my lack of creativity and talent restricts me to do so. It’s kind of frustrating but I think I just have to keep practicing and hope that someday I’d get a major creativity overhaul! I may not be blessed with that skill, but persistence has always been my forte; therefore, I will never give up until I’d become better.

Busy preparation. Lately, I am busy buying scrapbook stuffs for the student's projects. This is in preparation for the monthly projects in one of the private schools in our town. I also had my printer converted into continuous ink supply since it guarantees ninety percent savings. About a few years ago, I’ve always been headstrong in this crooked made up principle of mine, the “Law of Equivalent Exchange”, which I have adopted from a movie series. It more or less states that one cannot gain anything without first giving something in return and to attain that, something of equal value must be lost.

I was so young back then when I hammered that principle into my head. I always thought that everything comes with a price; though, not necessarily monetary value, sometimes the intangible ones or even the infamous “debt of honor”. That one’s a bit tricky.

It’s hard when you have this debt of honor since you’ll be enslaved with the idea of being indebted to someone and the constant need to look for the “perfect price” to repay that debt. You can’t just get a credit repair service to help you. And if the person you’re indebted with is a mean one, then you might be in trouble as it will be used against you. I’m not really in the position to give ideas on how to pay that debt since I have my fair share of those debts also. If ever you have solutions, I would appreciate it if you'll share it with me.

Endless projects

Officially started. The class has indeed officially started since endless projects and assignments are overflowing. Every now and then, my daughter asks for money to buy some school stuffs at the nearby general merchandise store. I am glad that they are really hands on especially when it comes to experiments. Unlike before with her previous school, they just look at pictures to get an idea about the topic. However, sometimes I find it inconvenient now that we have relocated in the province. Not all the time materials are available just like the vinyl bags. I have to travel few kilometers just to get to the nearest mall in the adjacent town. Good thing there are several air-conditioned buses available twenty four hours a day. At least I won't have a hard time commuting. As compared to our lifestyle in the city, I find life simpler and less expensive. No fast-food chains, malls, theaters, and the likes that would entice you to spend your hard-earned money. I just hope that I can start saving for the future.

Not a big fan of reality shows

The downside of reality shows. I am not really a big fan of reality shows. I find it boring and more often corny. But since I had so many things to do last night that I still don't want to fall asleep; I had no choice but to watch. The show is about real people vying for the four million pot money. They have to stay on the race and win every game. Today's episode was full of extreme pursuits one can ever imagine. It is so scary since it's a matter of life and death struggle. One contestant almost hit the travel trailers of the production team when he lost control of the steering wheel. Everybody thought it was his time because the impact was so great that it would be impossible for anybody to survive unscathed. After seeing what happened, I immediately turn off the television to avoid having nightmares. I can still clearly remember the incident and it makes me quiver. I just prayed and put all my things in order.

Second home

Silly poses. I was trying to delete some old pictures from my cell phone because it has slowed down a bit. While watching those silly poses in Singapore, I suddenly became lonely a bit. I miss my second home. Having stayed there for quite some time is like a once in a lifetime opportunity. I get to know different kinds of people of various nationalities. One thing that also made me appreciate their culture is the equal importance they give to their elders. Despite old age, they still give employment opportunities to them unlike in other countries where sixty years of age citizens are obliged to retire. They also have priority seats in the bus and train. No wonder they truly enjoy their rights and privileges. Online business

Complex procedure. I have a new online business soon to open. I hope this will somehow help since my shop is not doing that good this month. This is quite complex since it encompasses a lot of services from ticketing, remittances, call card loading, and more. In order not to commit mistakes while doing transactions, I need to do trial and error by following the given instructions. The sad part is that I forgot where I stored my username and password. Plus the fact that my laptop is running too slow, which started just this morning; I find it hard and tedious searching for the folder. This may be because of overloading. A lot of files have been saved, which caused the delay. Other causative factor perhaps is the virus.  Hence instead of proceeding to the site, I quickly browsed for alternative storage for my file and this is where I chanced upon document storage phoenix. I have a fair number of stuffs to do and unluckily it doesn’t involve sitting all day, surfing the web, and visiting online sites for helicopter lessons. Getting an iPhone would definitely shorten my hobby list too. Lastly, I don’t like attracting crime-related situations. I commute most of the time and I would definitely prefer being able to go around without being paranoid due to the presence of crowd. Therefore, simple living still remains unmatched.

Beating the deadline

Visible effects in few weeks time. Lately, I can feel that I have aged a bit. This is because of stress for sure. I am quite anxious since a lot upcoming bookings are scheduled for this month. I'm afraid I might not be able to beat the deadline. While doing my daily skin care routine, I kind of noticed some fine lines at the side of my eyes. These become more visible whenever I smile. Political issues. National election is about to come. Aspiring candidates and incumbent politicians are now slowly making their move to persuade people. Each of them has their own strategy to entice people to vote for them. They are taking into consideration associations of senior citizens and of gays and lesbians since they make up a huge crowd. Even those who belong to out of school youths and troubled teenagers are given importance due to its considerable number. Approved government projects are overflowing here and everywhere. Since we just opened a small bridal shop in our hometown, we had no choice but to relocate. This means my child also has to transfer to another school. I really pity her because I know she will find it difficult to mingle with new friends and classmates. I am right indeed, several times she begged me to send her back to her old school. If only I have all the money in the world, for sure she wouldn't have to go through this. At puberty age, she undergoes a lot of changes both physically and emotionally. Positivity in life. People live different lives. Some are well-off, while many suffer from poverty. Hospital phobia

Just the thought of brushing shoulders with other people while passing by the corridor and riding an elevator already weakens my system. We don't know who among them has rare pulmonary disease like pneumonia. You might ask what are the causes of walking pneumonia. That I do not know as well, but for sure it is serious. I don't have any choice because we have a patient take care. Let us just pray for good health and ask for miracles to happen.

Most difficult time in our lives

Faith like a mustard seed. Lately, we are experiencing one of the most difficult times in our lives. One of the hardest for the entire family since it involves the health of our love one. I'm so worried for my brother. Every now and then, series of laboratory testing are ordered by several medical specialists to rule out various diseases. In fact, he is scheduled to undergo a neck surgery the soonest to remove a palpable lump near his throat. As a form of moral support, I did a little research about the procedures, time duration, indications, prognosis, etc. As much as possible, I want to feed him with information to ease his anxiety. Month of May

Little time and marketing strategy. Just recently, we relocated to our hometown to launch our small business -  Clea's Closet. This is a one-stop shop for all your wedding and party needs. I had a sort of culture shock since the people are very much different as compared to our previous residence. Buses and all kinds of vehicles pass endlessly even until dawn. Although life is quite simple; during night time I find it hard to sleep because a lot of bystanders hangout near our house. In fact, sometimes I see drug addicts shouting in the middle of the night and often end up rumbling. Sovereignty dispute

Every time I turn on the television and watch the news today, there is always this news broadcast about the sovereignty dispute between the Philippines and China over the Scarborough Shoal.

Well I am a Filipino as you may know and you can’t blame me if I am going to be a bit too nationalistic with my opinions about this whole issue. Or maybe because there are an awful lot of posts from other people raving about the topic the way the beauty world has been raving about argan oil that I also wanted to share what I have to say.

I really think it’s a bit unfair for China to still share ownership with the Scarborough since if you’re going to look closely in the map; Scarborough is really nearer the Philippine territory than theirs. However if they would really insist and worst comes to worst that they will decide to resolve things through war; then, I guess it’s about time for us to give up instead. I mean, come on! What's wrong with this world

Bad news. I do not quite grasp the logic why the news would broadcast mostly about bad reports - death, war, sickness, and the scandalous life of the celebrities that we used to look up to. I realized that they are not good enough and in constant debate between the church and the state like the RH bill and gender selection.

Watching all these things on television, I can’t help but feel too self-righteous. Just viewing how the sentimental aspects of life has been decentralized into just superficial modes for entertainment purposes; exaggerated advertisements are tolerated for customer satisfaction no matter how weird the ideas may be.

It is a bit depressing how purpose has transformed into just an option rather than a necessity. Reason becomes deadweight to our soul whilst passion becomes nonsense that feels “so right”. This world is indeed a beautiful and ugly space, which spreads inside and out.

I wanted to be a chef

Believing in yourself. There is this show in Star Movies that I really enjoy watching: Junior Master Chef Australia Season 2. I have never missed an episode of this show ever since season one. It is a cooking show or competition where little kids are the ones who would make those delicious foods.

You see, I have a lot of dreams and ambitions and pretty much a number of things that I wanted to do ,but I don’t end up doing because I either ran out of time or just strapped for cash. One of these things is to become a chef. As I was watching those little “cheflings” on the show, it made me feel a bit jealous. It’s amazing how instantly I get annoyed by people who remind me of the person I want to be.

If I’m going to be a chef, I’d definitely cook sumptuous foods! Put some exotic ingredients like argan oil products, which I’ve read to be very great. What a unique recipe! Maybe because I heard someone singing it or it just fits my mood today and so happened that I am the overly dramatic type of person that I tend to make a theme song with practically everything I do!

I started out planning to do something productive and since I’m feeling artistic I thought of sketching, but gave up since I can’t find my favorite pencil. I wanted to play the piano, but I’m too lazy to look for the adaptor. I decided to play a game, but eventually looked for the Words With Friends Cheat just to get over it. Well, I am one of those people whose minds are abnormally restless and too random for my own good. I was thinking of the odds on what could possibly happen if we are living in an apartment. Or better yet, what if my mind is actually an apartment - and a big one too! If my mind is an apartment, it must have a lot of rooms like the “room for improvement”, “room for better understanding”, room where I keep the important memories, room where there is this big collection of art materials and musical instruments, room where I’m going to hold Boot Camps for kids to prepare them for the zombie apocalypse, and the normal ones where people would rent. If my mind is an apartment, it is going to be a very noisy apartment since the boarders are always having a disagreement with each other. Self-justification is battling it out with conscience, headstrong logic against fickle emotions. And of course, it will always be a fidgety one all thanks to imagination. It must be a total mayhem!

Every day is a Fight

Competition Everywhere. In this very cutthroat world, finding your place has become a never ending fight back. Ever since the day you were born, those billions of sperm racing just to reach the egg, the great competition has already begun. Every day has been a struggle just so we can cope up with rivalry. I think it has been already a part of human instincts to refuse to give in to competition and really find their place on top of the ladder. I think our being competitive side has been hard wired into our system. Even in our everyday lives we tend to add the challenge in our houses. Even with just the simplest things we want to be superior to others - we want our garden to look better than our neighbors or play the Hanging With Friends cheat in the internet like a race just to get ahead of them in the leader board. I understand that we need a little push in order to motivate ourselves to do more. But to be too overly aggressive to the point that we are starting to get bloodthirsty is not acceptable anymore.

Watch your grammar. English is a universal language and we also use it in our everyday lives. We could hear people engaging in an intellectual discourse in the English language every day. Some people are proficient with the language, while some still need to try a little bit harder.

I am always amazed by people who are never shy about speaking the language. But sometimes I get turned off when they couldn’t quite determine the proper use of “you’re”, “your”, “were” and “we’re” in a sentence. I guess simply learning the how to speak English is not enough. You also have to improve the vocabulary and the grammar. You do not have to necessarily enroll yourself in a grammar school when you can improve them on your own. Start by reading a lot, not only can you widen your vocabulary but also learn new things that could add to your knowledge. If you prefer to play than read, you could try playing games like word factory and scrabble, though sometimes calculating scores is a bit tiring, but thank goodness there is a Scrabble Score Calculator.  So I guess it’s about time that we work it up and strive to progress.
